What is the 'health advice cell'?
The health advice cell (HAC) was formed in July 2009 by the north east director of NHS flu resilience.
The cell is a regional group of health professionals from a range of clinical areas including;
- Acute Care
- Emergency Medicine
- General Practice
- Immunology
- Infection Control
- Intensive Care
- Nephrology
- Obstetrics
- Occupational Health
- Paediatrics
- Primary Care
- Public Heath
The cell is intended to provide policy advice rather than give advice to individual clincians.

Clinicians from across the north east can ask a question about the swine flu pandemic. Questions are reviewed by health advice cell members twice a week.
