All NHS staff or students on placement are entitled to access a large network of high quality library resources completely free of charge. As a member of your NHS library you can:
- access most other physical libraries in your local network
- access a wide range of web based electronic resources such as online books and journals and health databases
- support your own education and training, CPD (continued professional developement), research, evidence based practice or language, literacy and numeracy skills

How do I access my local NHS libraries?
First you must register with your home library - check the north or south based library list to find yours.
Registration is easy and free - call or email your local library for instructions on how to register with them.
Once you are registered you can then access most libraries in your local network (either north or south)

How do I access online library resources?
As a member of NHS your are automatically entitled to access a huge range of online resources suck as books, journals and health databases.
To access these you must first register at the National Library for Health so you can be given an 'Athens' password.
