Awards scheme
The north east health in the workplace group provides a useful forum for sharing information and good practice.
Membership includes Public Health North East, NHS workplace leads, and the Trades Union Congress.
The group has produced a free guide called Better Health at Work and developed a highly successful awards scheme to:

support improvements in health and well-being for north east workers and employers
-
create an inclusive, standardised framework using the expertise of workplace health leads responsible for existing local award schemes
-
complement existing schemes which are available in some but not all areas
-
give regional recognition to those workplaces which actively promote the health of their employees
-
share good practice and promote the contribution workplace health can make to a healthy community.
