As part of our commitment to improving transparency and in line with pledges outlined in the NHS Constitution, a new ‘infographic’ is being used for the very first time to help you understand how your local NHS hospital trust is performing.

The infographic will be published every quarter and will show how every NHS hospital trust in the region is performing on key aspects of care such as A&E waiting times, referral to treatment times for inpatient and outpatient procedures and treatment times for urgent cancer referrals.

The north east NHS has a long standing history of top performance, high levels of patient satisfaction in local services and some of the best performing hospitals in the country – all of which consistently exceed national performance standards set by the Department of Health.

The publication of the infographic by the region’s NHS is in line with government priorities to give people high quality information, greater choice and more control over their own healthcare.
