Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS

The white paper, Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS, sets out the government’s ambition to achieve healthcare outcomes that are among the best in the world. It laid out proposals for a radical new approach that puts patients in the driving seat, putting them in charge of making decisions about their health and care. It also established a commitment to giving people more information and control and greater choice about their care.

The white paper Healthy lives, healthy people: our strategy for public health in England sets out the government’s long-term vision for the future of public health in England .

It outlines a commitment to protecting the population from serious health threats; helping people live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives and improving the health of the poorest, fastest.
